A native of North Carolina, Kristen graduated from Elon University in 2011 and from Elon University School of Law in 2014. During law school Kristen was a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem, competed on Elon’s Moot Court Board and was the student chair of the 4th Annual Billings, Exum and Frye Moot Court Tournament. She was also selected to mentor other Elon Law students through the Dean’s Fellows Program. During her third year, Kristen was honored with the North Carolina Advocates for Justice Student Advocacy Award for her commitment to public service and excellence in trial and appellate advocacy.

 As an attorney, Kristen has dedicated her career to the practice of all aspects of family law. Kristen is a powerful advocate who understands the nuances and complexities involved with the practice of family law and is committed to helping her clients through the legal process, achieving the best outcome possible. In addition to her years of experience in the field, Kristen approaches her practice in a decisive, yet compassionate manner, keeping her clients and their needs at paramount as she navigates the intricacies of their case.

 In further commitment to the field of family law, Kristen completed the training necessary to serve as a Parenting Coordinator and offers Parenting Coordinator services to assist parents with practical challenges that often arise in complex custody situations. Additionally, Kristen offers Guardian Ad Litem services to families in connection with family law cases.

 In addition to practicing with The Vernon Law Firm as a licensed North Carolina Attorney, Kristen enjoys her role as an Assistant Adjunct Professor at Elon University coaching the undergraduate Mock Trial Competition Team in addition to serving on numerous boards and committees throughout Alamance County. Kristen has held leadership positions within the Alamance County Bar Association and is currently serving as the Alamance County Bar Association’s Vice President.

 When Kristen is not in the office, courtroom, or classroom, she enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with friends, family and her dog, Miss Piggy.
