R. Bryan Norris, Jr.
Attorney
Former District Court Judge Bryan Norris is an Alamance County native who brings a wide range of legal experiences to the practice of law. A graduate of Davidson College and the University of Chapel Hill School of Law, Bryan began his legal career as a commercial litigator in the Burlington office of Wishart, Norris, Henninger, and Pittman. He later joined the Greensboro firm of Sharpless & Stavola, where he continued to expand his litigation practice. After several years as a trial attorney, Bryan took his skills to the North Carolina Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of North Carolina, working as a judicial law clerk for a collective total of more than seven years. In 2024, Bryan had the high honor of being appointed to the Alamance County District Court bench, where he presided over every kind of criminal and civil case brought in district court. Now back in private practice, Bryan is excited to bring his perspectives—from both before and behind the bench—to help his clients accomplish their goals at the trial and appellate levels.
Bryan’s interests outside of the law are as varied as his legal experiences. An Eagle Scout, Bryan enjoys fly fishing and hiking along the Haw River with his wife and two children, as well as practicing target archery in his back yard. When the weather isn’t cooperating, Bryan likes to break out one of his many boardgames, crack open a book, or settle in with a good movie.
