Vernon inducted into the NCBA General Practice Hall of Fame

The Vernon Law Firm is pleased to announce the induction of John H. Vernon, III into the North Carolina Bar Association General Practice Hall of Fame.  Mr. Vernon was inducted into the NCBA General Practice Hall of Fame on Thursday, June 18, 2015 during the 117th NCBA Annual Meeting in Asheville. 

Those chosen to become members of the General Practice Hall of Fame have exhibited the highest standard of ethics and professional competency.  General Practice Hall of Fame lawyers have served as models for other lawyers and exhibited a high level of service to their communities.

John H. Vernon, III was born in Burlington, NC to John H. Vernon, II and Dolly Vernon.  He attended Wake Forest University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in 1964 and his law degree in 1967.  Mr. Vernon then attended New York University, receiving his LL.M. in Taxation in 1969.  Upon completion of his formal education, Mr. Vernon returned to Burlington to begin his law practice in the firm his father founded in 1933.  Today, Mr. Vernon continues to practice law at The Vernon Law Firm. 

John H. Vernon, III has been married to Vicki B. Vernon, an active member and volunteer for numerous charities in the Alamance County community, for 49 years.  The Vernons reside in Burlington and have three grown children, Sara L. Vernon, Katherine H. Vernon and John H. Vernon, IV.
